STOP BULLYING!

CNN reports that a elementary school student killed himself as a result to being bullied.  

As a teacher, this story is heartbreaking! Many years ago, the school district

in which I worked started a program called "Silence Hurts". Eventually, the

program fadedaway. This year, I was very proud that our GSA (Gay-Straight

Alliance) on campus approached me and asked if I would designatemy classroom

as a "Safe Space"....a place where any student could come if they needed an

adult tolisten. If you are a young person reading this post and you are being

bullied or just need someoneto talk to ... find that person! Whether it be a 

teacher, a friend, clergy, a police officer, ora parent. TALK.

Change is a comin'

It seems that the best way to keep your mind off of things is to keep yourself perpetually busy.  Well, maybe it's time for some reflection.  When things aren't working....you need to fix them.  Or, at minimum, get assistance fixing them.  Full speed ahead!
