Next Wednesday night at 9 PM CST I hope to be seeing this sign..BEAUTIFUL LAX!!! I am traveling with my friend JenJen to LAX for our 2nd trip to West Hollywood Pride! We're staying with Rick and we will also be traveling to Palm Springs for a few days at Rick's house -- I love the desert!
This has been a long, trying year! Between the stress of "high stakes" testing to what seems like the constant adding of things on top of normal teaching load, I have been BEYOND stressed!
This past week was especially difficult It seems that administrators care nothing about the humans they have working for them and everything about the bottom line -- test scores. Several GREAT teachers chose to leave my school in an effort of find "less stressful pastures". It seems that working at an "A" school is much more appealing than working at a (most likely) a "D" school. Mark my words....school grading and No Child Left Behind will lead to the next great "Flight" from urban schools -- good teachers will leave in order to work at higher rated schools that require less of teachers......I PROMISE to write about that soon.
