I LOVE THE FREAGIN OLYMPICS!

I have to tell you.   I LOVE THE OLYMPICS...and I LOVE MICHAEL PHELPS!  Yes, I know it sounds wierd.....gay man....loves sports.  Now, I have to admit....my boyfriend, Michael Phelps (I wish) is a beautiful drink o' water....But I truly love what he stands for.  AMERICAN EXCELLENCE!  This young man has dedicated his life to his passion -- swimming.  

He won another GOLD not too long ago.  He deserves it. Now....on to my title.  My neighbor said, "Wait, you actually watch the olympics?"  HELL YES I WATCH THE OLYMPICS!

I am dedicated, committed....and I love the USA.  Love women's beach volleyall...Love Team USA's win over the French last night in the 400 IM (those smarmy bastards!  Never say you are going to crush the US......we always have to rescue you in times of crisis!!!

WTF USF! MY BFF is a Cult Classic!

After USF beat the University of Central Florida in basketball...err...I mean football 64-12 on Saturday I was in a state of shock! All the haters have been coming out of the woodwork. Coaches are charging USF with everything from illegal recruiting, to playing players who don't meet NCAA requirements to not being eligible for a high ranking because of their "weaker" schedule. The fact is ass holes my friends that we have fought our entire season....for that matter...we have fought for the past 11 years! I say WE because I am NOT one of these "Oh USF is winning..I should join the band waggon" type of people. Far from it...I voted in the 1991-1992 school year to establish an exploritory committee to establish football at USF. We called it, "Touchdown 2000!" So SHUT UP YOU HATERS!

Now, it seems that I have embroiled my BFF, Chef Dean in what is now "USF Football Madness". We call each other during the games....HELL...last week, he texted me updates (I was training teachers on how to use computers) from his cell phone. I would forward these updates to my friend Meryl (who was also in a workshop -- Hmmmm.....a sad commentary on the exciting nature of teacher training).

Sunday Morning, Meryl calls.....she says, "Call Dean. Found out what USF is ranked!" I replied, "Rankings don't come out until mid-day!" Her reply, "No, you need to call Dean......he knows." How funny, my non-football watching friend has now become the "Voice" of all that is USF football :)

Well Dean....here's to you! I'll be drunk dialing you again from this year's homecoming game at USF! We face Rutgers this Thursday. I'm so nervous! LIKE I'M ON THE FREAKIN TEAM!

USF is ranked #2 both the Coaches AND the BCS Bowl Rankings!

We played like crap yesterday.....and yet.....we moved up to #5 in the rankings FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! Luck was a lady last night. Cross your fingers for next week. Get some rest Bulls...I'LL SEE YOU AT HOMECOMING!

OH...DID I FORGET TO MENTION THAT WE ARE THE ONLY FLORIDA TEAM IN THE TOP 10?

"Those in the know" have already told us that we are going to hit the "glass ceiling" and will NEVER hit #1 or #2 this year.....but that's fine......FOR NOW.

Holy Fowler, USF!

Two posts in two minutes...is that like a record? Well, my ADHD mind had things to say.

I was HIGHLY disappointed in THE USF Bulls performance tonight against Find Another University (Florida Atlantic University). We played like crap!

Now, here's the interesting fact. I was talking with my friend, Meryl. We both live near FAU (ish). I was saying, "Well, I'm kinda glad with have this workshop today (see previous post to see why this is funny)....we don't have to worry about missing the FAU / USF game. USF is going to kill them." I guess I was also covering up for the fact that I was PISSED because I could have gotten a FREE ticket to see the game since I am a doctoral student at FAU....But I digress!

After my meeting I: (1) Go home; (2) Have a little cocktail; (3) change clothes. I head out to the Ale House to meet Meryl and her husband. We are THE ONLY Bulls fans in the. HELLLLLLLOOOOOOO PEOPLE....WE'RE #6 (well, at least today...maybe not tomorrow after our crappy performance..but #10 did lose).

Anywho....I watch the game...I get madder and madder (is that a word?). I just hope we do better against Rutgers! Hell, for that matter, I hope we beat You Can't Finish (University of Central Florida).

NOW....Here's the funniest of all...Who should I get a text from telling me he was "worried about us winning".....Hmmm.....CHEF DEAN....It seems that I have turned him into a USF Football Fan! I asked him to join us for homecoming..but he has to work :( Sad, he'll miss the "Tailgate at 7:30 AM (with open bar) and game at noon....BUT...HE WON'T MISS my drunken call from the hotel when we win......

PS...I would be remiss if I didn't tell you that USF's nickname was "You Stay Forever".....GO BULLS!

PSS....For those of you who are either not Tampans or who have not visited THE University of South Florida....the graphic is the exit from I-75. USF is located between the beautiful streets of Fowler and Flether Avenues :) After driving back from home each weekend (A 200 MILE JOURNEY) I was SOOOOO Happy to see that sign!

For the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW......THE University of South Florida has defeated West Virginia University. You know...I don't know which is better....the fact that I was a Student Government Senator (at USF) when we voted to establish a football program (We called it "Touchdown 2000). In it's 11th year (do the math).....WE are NATIONALLY RANKED!!! #18 USF has defeated #5!!!!!

I SAID...IT'S GREAT...TO BE...A USF BULL!

SHE'S TOXIC!

Okay...I can't even make stuff like this up!  I have been reading some of my favorite blogs TMZ.com and towleroad.com ... I hvae to admit, Andy's is my favorite...Anywho. It seems that the latest fodder is none other than Britney Spears. After (reportedly) going overseas and spending less than 24 hours in rehab, Ms. Spears has returned to Los Angeles sporting a new look (the skaky looking Britney is pictured on the left.  Having dealth with putting someone into to rehab very recently (see my posts below)...I am going to ask someone in her family to step up to the plate here.  I mean honestly!  I am not a huge Britney fan.  BUT it is a shame how she has totaly change over the past few years.  Just goes to show you that we all make poor decisions..and even those of us with everything can end up being a nothing.  See the video on LA's NBC HD Station.

From the WTF files....it seems that former-NBA "star" Tim Hardaway Hates Gays.  For readers of my blog, you know that I am fond of putting pictures with each of my posts.  Well, I am going to make an exception for Mr. Hardaway.  I think that even I have reservations of putting pictures of an ass with a post.

I have to be honest, I dont' watch Miami Heat basketball.  For that matter, I don't watch profesional basketball.  I do watch college, though.  The important part is that many individuals -- including young persons who look up to these players -- do.  SO....Mr. Hardaway...Shut the F#ck up with your homophobic views.  You were blessed to have a career....Furthermore, many of "The Gays" paid for season tickets to watch your sorry ass play.  I am glad that the NBA has cut its ties to him.  I watched his feeble attempt at an apology....You make me sick!

I hope you don't kiss your mother with that mouth!  May you get a cosmic "Bitch Slap" for what you said.

Who would have thunk that THE University of South Florida Would BEAT WVU (who WAS ranked #7!!).  As I talked with my friend, Meryl (who also went to homecoming with me) I asked, "What about those games today?"  She replied, "I think the FSU / UF game will be better...there is no way that USF will beat WVU!  They are ranked!!!"  Well, my friends, THE University of South Florida has DEFEATED WVU (elimiating their bowl bid).  I am SOOOO happy to have been in Student Government in 1991 when I and others voted to establish a football team....We called it "Touchdown 2000"...USF is now in its 10th year of football.....AND WE...HAVE.....DONE....IT!  "I SAID IT'S GREAT.....TO BE....A USF BULL!"

SuperBull, 2006

WOW! A gay man posting under the category of "sports". Maybe the world IS coming to an end. I have SOOOOO much to write about this week....whether it be the discraced religious leader, etc. etc. But...in the immortal worlds of my friend, "Glenjamin"....."Mike, you are the most un-gay gay man I have ever met". Yes, I love, college football, I love hockey, I long for the ability to punch someone in the face (GWB?).....but I just happen to love penises...including my own (it's not going anywhere anytime soon).

I digress.

This weekend I went to SuperBull 2006. The University of South Florida's 10th FOOTBALL homecoming. I was a senator in the college of education (in SGA) when we voted to establish a football team. In 1991, we called it "Touchdown 2000!". Who would have thought that by 1996 we would play our first season.

We are currently Division A in the "Big East!" This weekend we faced PITT (a ranked team) and won!!!

USF will go to its first bowl game ever!

Hurricane Floyd!

Floyd Landis has won the Tour de France, 2006!!!

Who is Floyd Landis? You ask. Well, he was a young protege' of Lance Armstrong several "Tours" ago. Lance wrote about him in his last book "Every Second Counts". I remember thinking (when I read the book last week while at my family's cabin) "Wow, this kid is brash -- he is very lucky to have a mentor like Lance"

I usually (well I did this time too) miss much of the Tour due to the fact that I am either at camp or at the cabin (in the N. Ga Mountains---my dad doesn't let me control the remote....unless it's Law and Order). I digress.

Floyd Landis almost didn't make Lance's US Postal Service Team -- as Lance wrote in his book, "He saw potential". When Landis first joined the USPS team, he was one of many trying to get a position on the tour team. He was in Spain.....knocking back expresso after expresso...Lance Armstrong talks frankly about pulling him aside and telling him to "get your act together". He described Floyd as "scared"...he was scared he wouldn't get a spot...scared he would wreck...and scared he couldn't support his young family.
